  1. This is an interesting question. Telepathy is merely part of the sixth sense which is being directed in a specific way. Telepathy can be broken into many departments even though it is broadly recognised as mind reading or hearing another person’s thoughts. In other words the paranormal attainment of data centred on thoughts, feelings or activities of another person.

Empathy can best describe telepathy at its most basic level because one is picking up the feelings and emotions of other people such as fear, anger, stress, joy & happiness which are not necessarily their own.

I have had numerous experiences with "Knowing" when something is about to happen or has happened to a friend or loved one. The expression "You've been on my mind", is used a lot in my house and usually if one of my friends or family is on my mond something is happening for them. When I was 17 my brother got very sick. I actually lived 15 blocks away and I left my family around 7. At 11 I had the urge to go home ( there was no phone available) but decided to ignore it. My brother was taken to the hospital with a burst appendix at 11, the next day I found out about this (he was ok) but that night he played on my mind.

These experiences have always happened to me. More recently I had a friend on mind, they were in my thoughts all day. I had the urge to ring and she told me she could not find her partner. The next day I rang and he had suicided.

Only a few days ago I was driving along chatting to my passenger when I sensed the truck along side of me brake - I did not see it and I felt the fear and shock of the driver. Something seemed to say keep driving. I was in a two lane road and the truck must of seen the the driver of another vehicle going the wrong way and driving straight towards us - anyway the truck moved in behind me and driver of the other car realising they were going the wrong way turned into another road. But I could feel the whole panic and confusion.

My best advice to people is always listen to your feelings, if something does not feel right - then it probably isn't. If you have the urge to ring a loved one do so, dont fob it off, even if its the middle of the night just go with what you feel. If you go to a job interview and it does not "feel" right dont take the job on the other hand if you do something that feels right - then do it such as you have the urge to go to the park and you meet someone you have not seen for while or something like that. the world is very complex and some people are very good with telepathy or sensing things and others just dont.

I use this gift when I lose people at carnivals or fairs or other crowded places. I hone in on the person - I focus them in my thoughts and I listen to the cues in my mind turn her - go there, look over here and I would have to say 9 times out of 10 we find each other.

  2. If someone were truly telepathic, he'd be making millions of dollars using that ability. If nothing else, he would have claimed James Randi's million dollar prize. His ability to know things, irrespective of how it works or why it works, would be in incredibly high demand by many public and private interests once his track record becomes public knowledge. The world would be his oyster.

Has any of this happened? No. That's because nobody has this power.

A particularly hilarious excuse you might hear true believers parroting is that, well, people who have these powers are not interested in wealth or personal gain. ROFL!  What rubbish! As if telepathic powers turn people into Buddhist monks! No, sorry, not believable. Besides, someone who has these powers, if he/she truly has an more "evolved consciousness", would necessarily want to apply them to the public benefit, and the word would still get out about this person's strange abilities. But again, this hasn't happened.

  3. Some people may think they are telepathic when really they have undiagnosed mental illness. Usually people who are telepathic keep it to themselves, don't advertise their "abilities" to keep away skeptics. People with undiagnosed mental illness, sometimes go around saying "People can read my thoughts and I can read theirs". When really they are just making an assumption about what someone is thinking and when the person does something different, they think it is the same because of the illness.

If you believe that you are telepathic then you shouldn't have to prove, nor tell anyone unless you want to. If you try and prove it to someone it is likely that skepticism will arise and others will hear about it so you will have more people against you and so forth. There are people out there who will support you, but it's best to find those people before broadcasting it to just anyone.

  4. You are not telepathic -- no one is. The most careful and sensitive scientific tests have shown NO telepathic effects. Only poorly designed tests show effects.

Anyone who says that they are telepathic is either self-deluded or a fake.

  5. if you think you are telepathic the real question is how reliable do you think it is and how much are you willing to bet on it.

I would not tell anyone or try to prove it. just going to get yourself stigmatized.

test yourself. try to find a situation where someone is thinking of something then says it out loud. for example sit in a coffee shop near the clerk. he will see the total of a charge, then anounces it to the customer. if you are right a significant number of times, then it's up to you to see if you can come up with a way to put it to use.

  6. If I had the ability I would not feel the need to prove it nor would I. And i do honestly believe if I had it, I would not want anyone to know about it because even if i could prove it there would always be skeptics wanting me to do just that and I would be hounded my entire life with it and that would not be fun at all.

  7. how convinient is it that no-one can or wants to prove their abilities.

if psychics(even just one psychic) could just prove once and for all that they have this power, then they would be accepted and maybe even treated with more respect.

But since no-one can, their "abilities" are just in their mind.

It's like me saying: i can fly, but i don't want to prove it, or i can fly when nobody is looking.
