Telephone line troubles, cordless phones work but phones with cords dont???

My land line phone doesn't have a dial tone and we cant call out but it rings and the lights work, and its only on the phones with cords all cordless phones work.

No one can hear us either when we pick up the cord on phone. any help?

Have you plugged into different jacks?

Plug the corded into where the cordless base is connected.

If you are in a house with access to the interface box take your corded and plug it into the test port in the box.

If it doesn't work then it is in the phone. If it does work it is in your house wiring.

And of course if all else fails give Ma's repair a call.



Your cordless may be picking the signal from a neighboring phone set up
