I got the following number:

+954-000-0000. The last 7 digits is left out for privacy?

I live in the United States and I do know that 954 is an area code in Florida, I think Miami (thank you Wikipedia!)

But what does the plus sign signify in the beginning of a number?

  1. Generally, the + indicates more preceeding numbers may be present.

A number may include the Country Code from which the call originated.

When dialing a long distance number, the + indicates you "may" need to proceed the phone number with the Country Code and IDD code.

So, either your caller ID display doesn't have enough digits to display the country code (and possibly the IDD of the caller), or those digits just were not available for display.
