Telephone promotional holidays - has anyone taken up one of these promos?

I have just had one of those phone calls saving 75% on holiday to Mexico - called it back this time to find out this is through Sunset hotels - Mexico. The offer seems good - £596.00 for two adults fully inclusive - 7 days. Need to book own flights but have 18 months to take the offer.

The salesman said definately not time share ?? Is this offer too good ? Please advise your thoughts?

  1. its a scam please dont get involved

  2. LOL!

A friend of mine was stung by the same kind of scam! On the face of it it looks good, but slowly the "extras" get added on. In the end, his £100 holiday for two cost him over a grand.

But these guys are clever because they know that if you have paid £100 and they ask for another £200 you will probably walk away, so they only ask for another £50, then another £50, then £100 .....

Ignore them is my advice. You didn't call them, so I'm guessing you weren't looking for a holiday in the first place.

  3. Another telesales con. Once they have your credit card & bank details they clean you out and no holiday to show for it.

  4. I never fall for these offers because, after doing some online research, I find that I can beat or equal their prices. The amount they quoted you for the "land portion only" is not unusually low.

You apparently have to pay separately for the plane tickets. If you add that expense to the land portion quoted,  the total is a pretty common total package cost for a trip to Mexico. Air charges are going up rapidly with extra charges for baggage, fuel surcharges etc. etc. etc. Yikes!! : O
