Question:

Televised Sports in the 21st Century

I recently invested in one of these new fangled satellite dish thingies to widen the viewing on my 15 inch portable.

I came across an American channel showing a lot of young men playing rounders.

Why is this school girl sport being shown on TV and what happened to the good old sport of ruggers? Moreover, why did some of these boys feel the need to wear protective face wear, are they a nation of wimps?

  1. Indeed they are M'am, I cannot fathom out why they would want to wear Kevlar body armour in a gentlemans game. It would appear that they do not want to get hurt. I can remember in my youth playing the last 20 mins with my left hand tucked into my shorts protecting 3 broken fingers, the chap that did it, stood me a couple gins afterwards, no hard feelings, what? turned out, the chap was a peeler, stopped me and gave me a summons for having a couple of gins too many, before the drink driving law though. Got my own back though, told his sargeant his road tax was out of date.

  2. My dear Lady Constance,

It's understandable that a noble Lady as yourself should not be aware of matters happening to common people.

You see, m'Lady, in America they have what are known as 'cheers leaders' - delightful young lovelies dressed in adorable micro mini skirts who dance and cheer their teams on to victory (and in doing so, expose, quite sexily, their knickers).

Now the idea that men should take up this girls game is in order to entice the cheer leaders to take part in the game itself - that way, enabling the girls to partake in the communal bath afterwards.
