Question:

Television stopped working ?

my t.v stopped working last night. It just went off. Its an old style 32" sayno. I noticed that it has water marks on the back of it where water has dripped on it from my leaking windows...can I claim on my home insurance for a new t.v? if i did claim would they bump the cost up for my next years insurance?

You can try but first check the initial payment you need to make - with all contents policies you have to pay the initial part of the claim, for mine it's £150.  Also, some policies will only give a "Like for Like" replacement, so you may want another Sanyo but they could give you some no-name brand that has the same technical specs as yours.

    ALSO, are you covered for accidental damage.  The leaky windows should really be fixed as this'll happen with your new TV.  They may try and tell you it was "Wear and Tear" and that isn't covered.

    Making one claim shouldn't affect next years premium.

    The Sales will kick in August Bank Holiday, try and sit tight till then and grab yourself a bargain at the weekend!
