This television first started with the picture messing up, think that was to do with the cable connection on the back because I smacked it on the side and the picture straightened out and it was fine. Recently I went to turn the set on and it sounded like it was going to turn on and then it made another sound and would not power up from that point. I have worked on some televisions and installed fly back transformers, but that was long ago. I have tools, soldier iron and volt/ohm meter. I was thinking that I can open the set, discard the tube and this might have a broken connection to the cable but the power going out I suppose I could trace back from the power button. I am leery of discharging the set since I have not done this for so long. Can you instruct me as how I should do this and what to look for or test. Your help would be greatly appreciated
