Tell about an upset victory you had. A fight that you were losing. Tell how you turned it around, what moves and punches you used to win!

  1. Well Ive only had 3 matches in my life. 1(at 240) amateur and 2 pro(at 265), not because I'm so great or anything but but because i couldn't stand the helmet. Both of the pro fights were in small clubs in Mexico since they would not give me the pro license here in the US.

I lost the amateur fight by decision, rightly so, I looked like ****, and won the second fight by knockout with a counter uppercut against a big slugger like me. That was a pretty straight up fight, nothing amazing.

The third fight however, I won't forget anytime soon. It was against a Cuban immigrant, real nice guy(cant remember his name, he was of African descent so it was too complicated for me to try and say it), but one h**l of a dancer in the ring. And he had a quick jab and a deadly straight.  I got jabbed in the face for 8 rounds non stop. I could not catch him. He circled away from my power hand, jabbed me when i dropped my hands, and never let me get on the inside. Used his 4 inch reach advantage beautifully. My nose was broken, my right eye had a cut underneath it, and I was having trouble breathing from my nose, and to top it off, my mouth was bleeding too. Then he messed up in the last minute of round 8. He raised his hands like Ali in the air. I threw my best left hand at his gut and caught him cleanly. He lost his legs and i was finally able to get inside and pound him, he stoop up well for a thinner guy, but I knew I had hurt him. When the 9 round started, I just wildly ran at him, (taking a left right combo to the face along the way) and threw wild hooks to the body not even bothering to protect my face, he dropped his hands and I caught him with an uppercut, and when he raised his hands again, I dropped a left hook to the liver that folded him and I won by knockout. Of course, my face was swollen for 3 days after wards. By the way I asked the judges what the score was shortly after the fight, and it was 10-8 all the way up to round 7...... Ouch. haha.

    I stopped boxing after that.

I like food too much. hehe.

  2. Do you think senior amature fights get fixed?

The fight was for the amature California State Championship (featherweight) in Los Angeles back in the eighties.

Santos came in one half of a pound overweight and the promoter by the name of Otis didn't like Santos in the first place so he told Santos' trainer to cut the strip on Santos' official head gear so it would break and then ordered him to put on an old fat head gear so it would block Santos' vision.

The opponnets name was Nunez and he was the State Champ the year before.  Nunez took control of the fight for the first two rounds although Santos was moving well but not throwing punches because he would have had to lift his chin just to see Nunez and take the chance of getting caught with a good punch.

With only thirty secounds left in the fight Santos began to desperatly take the risk by lifting his chin to see and backed Nunez to the corner and connected with a seven punch combination that knocked out Nunez with a standing ovation from thousands of spectators.

Santos had fifty amature fights and decided to go to college instead of turning professional because Otis would had make it hard on him in the pros because Otis was on the board of directors of the California Athleteic Commision for the pros.  Santos later earned degrees in physical education and psychology.

Otis was a retired cop and three years later he committed suicide.  Nunez went on to the pros for a seven year empressive record. One week after Nunez lost the chance to win the North American Boxing Federation title by knockout, he was shot in the head.

Boxing sucks sometimes, I should know because I'm Santos.

  3. I was up against Mike Tyson.

He came out at the bell and started throwing plenty of uppercuts, the kind that floor you in 1 hit. He hits me with one and I'm immediately down. I get back up and about 90 seconds in, he starts throwing straight punches while winking. I dodge these to the side and hit him with quick little punches left and right. At some point he started blinking his eyes really fast then jabbed my face in 7 times quickly to put me down again. I got up and barely survived to make it to round 2.

I ended up winning a decision.

Of course, this was all on Mike Tyson's Punch Out for the old Nintendo.

Never came back from an actual boxing match because either I overpower them or they keep me at range with long jabs and I can never get in enough.
