  1. If you're going to the UK (ie Britain) go start there. I liked becoming acclimated to European culture while still being able to read the signs!

It's easy to hit the big stuff in Paris in one or two days. Traffic is horrendous, but it will be except on weekends. I personally like the view from the top of the Arc de Triomphe better than the one from the Eiffel tower, and you don't have the 2-3 hour line, just steps! Paris is great, but unless you have plenty of time to explore, it's better just to visit "big-ticket" items and save the rest for a later trip! Best way to go? Buy a metro pass. Be careful though, there's a 'train' and a 'metro'; the passes work on either line, but you have to make sure you're on the right one!

I highly recommend visiting the South of France. Provence is a beautiful region and the coast is the most beautiful place in the world (in my not-so-humble opinion).

Italy is also a favorite. Rome has so much history, and then Sorrento, Naples and Capri were my favorite places. Make sure you eat pizza!

FYI - always have a little change in your pocket, you'll probably have to pay ,20 - 1,00 euro for a public bathroom. Have a great trip!

  2. Ten days is too short to see Europe, but it is long enough to see a few places in Europe.

If you go with an organized tour you will have to watch for how long you will be in the bus and how long you will actually see things.

There are tours offering 10 countries in one week.

That is like seeing New York in a day and do Washington DC the next morning because you need to get to Miami the day after.

I think you can better restrict yourself to just one or two countries and see more towns in that/those countries.

That way you also have time to see some of the smaller towns, the villages and the national parks.

    Which countries?

The ones you want to see most, the ones that make Europe in your mind.

The UK and France are good, near each other and both easy to travel, but both are big countries, in 10 days you can only see some of the highlights, not get a good view of the whole countries. London and Paris do rate a week at least each.

  3. Check out an itinerary on EFCollegeBreak.com or Contiki.com and it'll give you good ideas for stuff to do!
