kalamaki is Greek , you walk into a Greek Giros (kebab )shop and you order a plate of Souvlaki kalamaki merida,  15 minutes later your waiter will return with a plate (merida=portion) of a pita bread, with sliced lettuce tomato, onion and 1 or 2 beef ,chicken, lamb,or pork grilled scures (your choice of meat) on top with a tsatsiki (yogurt, cucumber, garlic sauce) and a side of fries,Get it?

pieces of cubed meat on a bamboo stick grilled over charcoal
