  1. i called out one day...it is very rare that i call out at all but I had asked various supervisors to get someone to fill my shift..just so happened they couldn't and I couldn't find anyone either...the day came so in the morning I called and spoke to the store manager (head honcho) and called out..she got mad and in the middle of my sentence she says "um hum..ok thanks" and hangs up...MID-SENTENCE...well I spoke with her a day or two later..i felt entitled to an apology..I was a great worker, got along with everyone, tried my best, came in on my off days to work and I didn't deserve that..in a very nice but stern matter I expressed my disapproval of her actions..she of course didn't apologize and she made the situation escalate to a nasty tone by accusing me of an attitude..which is preposterous..never have i had an attitute with anyone..but i remained calm and polite..I realized the situation wouldnt be resolved on even terms so I said "I understand we are just going to have a difference of opinions so we can leave it at that." and she agreed and I left the office..

the situation was weird but another supervisor approached me and explained that she handled the situation wrong and he was on my side..i felt better and that was that..

  2. I was called into the office because the company had overpaid me for the past 6 months and now wanted the lump sum of $860.00 paid back in full immediately.

I laughed and told them that's just not going to happen because for one: I didnt' have the money and 2: it's their fault.

Eventually after much debate I agreed to admit partial fault and repay half the money if they admit partial fault and forgive the rest of the debt.

  3. Hmmm this one was hard for me because I am the type of person who hates confrontation. I am a sheep not a herder. So I tend to just go with the other person's opinion. My current supervisor and I have become very close, he's become my best friend and I feel comfortable having discussions with him when I don't feel like things are being done in the most productive way possible. But the great thing is when I do come to him with an issue even if he doesn't agree with me on it he listens to my opinion and I listen to his. usually one of us realizes we are in the wrong....usually it's me. But on occasion I will be the one in the right and those are GREAT DAYS. We never fight about it or raise our voices. We discuss. Kind of like a debate team, he has his turn I have mine and we come to a conclusion that best suites the needs of everyone involved.
