  1. Bobzeaux - we do have huge groceries stores (Carrefour, Leclerc, Auchan etc), since we do live to eat, how else would we manage!!? Of course you're not going to find them on the Champs Elysees...

Life in France is good, very good. The main difference with American is that shops are not open 24h/7, which can be  a bit frustrating sometime especially if you are used to the american way. Quite a few strikes here and there...

As for we all hate americans, please let's not generalize! Lots of parisians (to only name them) are rude to everyone, even to French people. But again, there are nice people in America & France and rude people in America & France.

We love to go out, explore, eat, drink, socialise, sports etc & If you make a little effort to speak french, it will go a long way, a smile always helps :) So as long as you come to France (or any countries) without this ' we rule the world' attitude, your trip will go very smoothly!

  2. france is amazinggg i did a 3 month exange there afew years ago. it was the best experiance of my life,

everything there just feels so original and vintage

the streets are cobblestone, cute little shops, the fashion is way more up to date and classy

the food is to DIE for, fresh bakerys on every corner

you can drink and buy smokes at 16

i would love to go back, i highly recomend visiting, paris can change you.

  3. It's very expensive there and prices can vary wildly (some mom and pop store prices for the same grocery item can be double the price of a supermarket). The pastries and chocolates are great. The beef can be very tough (sorry, but it's true).  You can find supermarkets in France about the same size in the US.  But the tastes in food do vary (for example, the breakfast cereal section is much smaller than in the US. But they often have a whole aisle or 2 for wine and spirits).  Most French ppl have wine with supper. And with their salad and with dessert.haha What do they do for fun? They go to movies, eat out, go to clubs, concerts, museums and walk in the park.  It's western civilization, but it can be different from America.  The ppl are as varied as they are in the US-- some are outgoing. Some are quiet.  Some polite and friendly. Some not.  France is a nice place to visit, but as an American, you know that you're not really at home.

  4. most of them hate americans, they smoke more then us, best pastries ever, they shop for fun, it's beutiful, way more beutiful  in real life, their taxi system is different

  5. I don't know much about French recreation (although I imagine it's not too unlike that of America) or what issues they face, but I know this much; they live to eat, but somehow don't gain a pound!  They don't have huge grocery stores like America has.  Just these little places where every day you buy what you need just for that day, and every day is concluded with a big, hearty meal the likes of which you'd only expect on days of celebration.  But no obesity epidemic over there for some reason. :P
