Question:

Tell me about smoking pot? What if you're on a rx drug?

I have never smoked pot before, so I have a few questions, out of curiosity.

1. Some people told me they didn't get high the first time. To me, this doesn't really make sense, maybe they just didn't inhale properly?

2. What does it feel like? How long does it last?

3. What should one prepare oneself for so one does not have a panic attack/paranoia, can you control that at all? Can you say to yourself "calm down, you're high, don't freak out"?

4. What difference does it make if you're buzzed and then smoke?

5. How might pot mix w/anti-depressants? If any of you have depression and/or anxiety, did the pot make it better or worse? Do you take a prescription as well? (if anyone is on Effexor and/or Wellbutrin, that would be best)

I guess that's about it. Anything else you can think of is cool too

  1. 1. I got very messed up the first time. I think it just depends on the person. I was smoking a couple hits out of a 3 gallon gravity bong, which i think had a lot to do with it.

    2. It feels like you can take yourself out of reality and into this whole different world allows you to only think about the things you want to recognize. Pure elevation and happiness. About 10 minutes after I smoke I begin to peak. I peak for about an hour, then I keep a mild buzz for sometimes up to 3 or 4 hours. It depends on how much you smoke, what you're smoking, and how much of a tolerance you have.

3.I don't allow myself to think of the negative things. It's as simple as that.

4.You just get a lot higher.

5.Weed totally helped with my depression as well as anxiety. I was in therapy for a while, then I started smoking and I began to love life so much. I was so happy. I've been smoking for almost a year now and I still am more enabled to truly experience the beauty and love in life. (:

  2. 1) for sum reason most people dont get high the first time... i didnt, and i dont understand it either....

    2) its a relaxing feeling that makes you feel like nothing can bother you and it makes u want to be super nice

    3) paranoia just comes with it the more u smoke the less u have of it though just go to sleep to stop that or eat something

    4) u get more messed up

    3) pot works the same way as anti-depressants

  3. 1. I don't know why it happens, but it's common -- some people just have to do it two or three times. Inahle and hold is the way to go.

    2. It's like stepping into a different world. You feel sort of detached from yourself and time seems to slow. Giggly and dumb, amused and detached. Some people get euphoric. Heart pounds. You notice minor perceptual details you normally wouldn't, its sort of like being in a toned-down Van Gogh painting. Get the munchies.

    3. Dude, you have a bad high, you *will* believe you're going to die. Miserable.

    4. Smoking a cigarette after smoking pot will intensify the high.

    5. Pot usually mellows you, but as you noted, it can have the opposite effect, then ouch.

What I'd add -- yeah, it's fun at the occasional party, but you *can* turn into a stoner and don't suppose that doesn't have a downside, you can get lazy and dumb and you will go on to do harder drugs.

  4. get off the rx c**p! i was on all kinds of them before i started smoking.

guess the best way to describe what it feels like is for u to try it for ur self, i recomend going to a national forest away from people for ur first time. and its not the pot that makes you freak out its ur own head, that's why i said away from people lol! as far as mixing them it depends on you

  5. 1: the first time i smoked it took 30 minutes to take full effect, and i inhaled a good amount. now it takes about 15 minutes.

#2: depends on the quality, but effects include: time slows down, tunnel vision or "snowy"vision, feel like you're floating, feel like your very heavy, body numbness, overall hapiness, the munchies, you start thinking of crazy ideas, paranoia, dizzyness, loss of coordination...

#3: smoke in a relaxed setting with people u get along with. some people can control it, others can't.

#4: don't recommend it, it just gets you more intoxicated.

#5: I tried it because i was depressed and it works great, for me at least, i feel a lot better if i smoke a few times a week. i don't like taking those pills, i don't like the side affects.

  6. it feels pretty sweet!  lol but the first time no high thing only happens with people who have a resistance to it, usually if their parents smoked before pregnancy, it goes away tho.  dont worry about panic attacks you are usually so relaxed and calm.  lol if you are going to do anyting while high go skiing in the mountains, lol crazy **** there.

don't worry about the antidepresence if they react you'll know chances are tho they will not.

  7. If you haven't done it, keep it that way. It sounds like an after school special, and hordes of people will tell you how great it is. They're all teenagers with no real life experience. I just recently stopped smoking weed after almost 16 years of use. Nothing good comes of it. Long term use (you think you'll only smoke a few times, but you won't.) can lead to depression. Anyone that argues is a moron. Everyone I know that smoked weed stopped because of the depression it led to. I'm talking about literally dozens of people. If you're already on antidepressants, you don't need to be doing anything to make matters worse.

I'm sure I sound like an old man saying all that. I'm not even 29 yet. I started smoking weed when I was 13. I stopped many times over the years for months or years at a time. People told me they quit because of what it did to them, and I didn't get it. Now I do.

Smoking weed is like masturbation. It's fun while you're doing it, but in the end, you're only s******g yourself.
