  1. WHY? they're horrible, they are backstabbers.

  2. I'm not really sure on draft picks, but they did sign Marian Hossa, and Ty Conklin. They have 11 Stanley Cups. Their biggest rival is the Colorado Avalanche because of a cheap shot back in 1996. Niklas Lidstrom, Pavel Datsyuk, and Hendrik Zetterberg are 3 of the best NHL players. Detroit plays a puck control game, where as most teams play dump-and-chase. Detroit (in my eyes) is the greatest hockey team to ever take the ice

  3. The red wings are the ones with even more hot sauce on them than the rest, so beware!

    Just kidding...

    Here's a start:

I do think they'll win it again next year, since it's basically the same team and no one else who was close got dramatically better.

  4. Red Wings: Original six team

Head Coach: Mike Babcock (signed for 3 years)

Assistant Coach: Paul Maclean (signed for 3 years)

Assistant Coach: Brad Mcrimmon (signed for 3 years)

Starting Goale: Chris Osgood (signed for 3 years)

Backup Goalie: Jimmy Howard (signed for 3 years)/Ty Conklin (signed for 1 year)

Defense:  Nicklas Lidstrom (6 time Norris trophy--2nd all time-- signed for 2 years)

Defense: Brian Rafalksi (Signed for 4 years)

Defense: Brad Stuart (Signed for 4 years)

Defense: Niklas Kronwall (Signed for 3 or 4 years... I think 4)

Defense: Brett Lebda (Signed for 2 years I think)

Defense: Andreas Lilja (Signed for 1 year)

Defense: Chris Chelios (Probably going to sign a 1 year .5 million dollar deal)

Defense: Jonathon Ericcsson (Signed 3 years)

They have other good defenseman who are in the minors as well: Kyle Quincey, Derek Meech just to name a couple.

Center: Pavel Datsyuk (signed for 6 years)

Right Wing: Tomas Holmstrom (signed for 2 years, I believe)

Left Wing/Center: Henrik Zetterberg (signed for 1 year)

Center: Johan Franzen (signed for 1 year)

Right Wing: Marion Hossa (signed for 1 year)

Right/Left Wing: Jiri Hudler (signed for 1 year)

Center: Kris Draper (signed for 3 years)

Right Wing: Dan Cleary (signed for 5 years)

Left Wing: Mikael Samuellson (signed for 1 or 2 years I believe)

Center: Darren Helm (think he signed a 3 year deal)

Right Wing: Valterri Filppula (signed for 5 years)

Left Wing: Kirk Maltby (signed for 3 years)

They have good forwards that also play in the minors... to name a couple, Justin Abdelkader, Matias Ritola, Tomas Kopecky, Darren McCarty and Aaron Downey if they re-sign.

Red Wings got the biggest free agent name out there.... Marion Hossa, but just a 1 year deal.  I know they drafted the #1 rated goalie in the first round this year and got an above point per game producer with the last pick.  They also signed a finnish free agent who is supposedly really good for a 1 year deal.

I think Chicago is there biggest rival.  And Nashville.  And Columbus.  They all play really hard against Detroit.  They give Detroit a challenge and play good hockey against Detroit.

Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Hossa and Lidstrom are Detroits best players in my opinion.  Can't underestimate Holmstrom though, because if he wasn't there.. they wouldn't have as many goals.  Datsyuk is probably the best finness player in the league and can make you do stupid plays.  Zetterberg has a hard shot and is also a great finess player.  Hossa has proven to be great throughout his career with a rocket and a smart hockey player.  Lidstrom, I think is the smartest player in the league... he avoids hits, makes no mistake in the defensive end and can produce points.

They are an all-around team.  If you get by there defense, you have a near 400 game winner to deal with in Chris Osgood.  They got the best defenseman in the league, and one of the, if not thee best 1-2 punch in the league with Datsyuk-Zetterberg.  They will pressure your goalie with a lot of shots and can hit.  Yes, Detroit can hit.

I'm not jyxnin Detroits chance on back-to-back, but I don't see why not.
