  1. I agree with vbgrl about everything except the 6 feet toss.  When you begin, maybe 6 feet is good to learn how to do a controlled toss, but as you get comfortable, you shouldn't throw it anywhere near that high.  I throw my toss about 2-4 feet in the air, depending on the type of serve I'm doing.

Also, don't forget your stance.  Stand with the foot opposite your hitting arm slightly in front of the foot on the same side as your hitting arm, and as you go to contact the ball, step forward with the foot that is already in front and shift your weight to that foot.  As you snap your arm on the end of the contact, tense your core (abs) and use your abs to snap your arm (not just your shoulder muscles).  This will create a very strong serve, since you will be using the power of your entire body, not just the power of one arm.

  2. You want to hold the ball with your non hitting hand just at shoulder legnth. You want to toss the ball about 6 feet above your hitting should and contact the ball with a fully extended arm. Snap your wrist and follow through with your arm. Good luck and i hoped this helped

  3. Ok under hand serve I'm only telling you my tips for: Hold you left hand [if right handed if not vice-versa] about 3 or so inches in front of your belly button and hold the ball in it. [hold hand sideways.] move your other hand and hit the ball out ofthe hand. lol. also practice everyday and be sure to listen to coaches. look up facts about serving better online- go to your library and learn about volleyball:serving- ask the coaches for help- ask your gym teacher to help you out a little.

    thansk hope i helped! =]

  4. Here's what I've been telling everybody else.... What I do is I just practice practice practice. It helps if you use your wall and throw the ball at it then after that throw it on the ground hard over and over again for warm-ups. when your done practicing... over hand serving on to your roof. Every time you get it on take a small step back till you get to about the size of half the volleyball court and practice from there. It also helps if you stand with your right foot (if your going to hit the ball with your right hand) a little bit in-front of your left and your feet should about shoulders length apart and before you throw the ball up in the air your weight should be on your left foot and as you go to hit it switch to your right foot.
