  1. they are stupid.

H2 is not a fuel, its an expensive, inefficient battery.

  2. I just answered a similar question so I'll repost the same answer here as well:

H fueled cars are actually safer than gas cars for many reasons. H doesn't explode, it burns but at a lower temp then gas. In fact, its kinda hard to even get burned by it even if you wanted to because of two things, the low burning temp and that it is the lightest thing known to man so it simply disperses into the air and disappears if leaked. As far as calling it explosive, that's so wrong that I can only describe it as propaganda. You can't even light H with a lighter or match. H gas is very hard to light. Do your research before you speak. Look into it, the hindonberg was on fire because the skin caught fire not the gas inside. The gas made the situation in no way worse and never exploded. Think about the footage, did you see an explosion or did you see a fire on the outside of the airship? That's right, a fire on the outside, not an explosion. Look it up! It actually burned under quite controllable conditions and only because it was coated with a very flammable candle wax like coating did it burn up. Look it up, don't just trust me. Do your own research, don't listen to some uneducated member of some website. Look it up for yourself and live in the light with the rest of us.

Finally to the guy who side every H car is equal to a H-bomb, you're wrong. Flat out propaganda. Look it up. An H bomb is a Hydrogen bomb that can only split atoms when triggered by a regular nuclear bomb. That's right, they are two different things! Look it up and stop trying to scare people with your ignorant propaganda! I learned that in seventh grade! Mustn't have made it that far huh?

As far as the guy saying that cars running on H have a small distance limitation, he's wrong, period. Cars running with H have been seen to go as far as 700 miles between fill ups. Do your research before you speak!

  3. They are powered by a highly dangerous fuel that is both expensive and environmentally unfriendly to manufacture and distribute.

  4. They're expensive, 96% of our hydrogen currently comes from fossil fuels, there's no fueling infrastructure, and they're less efficient than electric cars, just for starters.

I wrote a wiki article on the subject.  See the link below for further details.

  5. They are expensive and environmentally friendly. I can't believe that they're starting to get into mass production! In california, they gave some to those superstar models!

  6. They look good on paper.  In countries or cities where driving distances are limited, and infrastructure can be easily implemented they might even work.  They will never work on a large scale, like in the US, because the driving distances are so far.  The infrastructure costs to support a hydrogen economy in the US would be stupendous.  Hydrogen is a very inefficient fuel source when burned, and not much more efficient in fuel cell form (currently).

If all the money spent researching hydrogen powered vehicles was spent on battery technology, we wouldn't need hydrogen in the first place.  Hydrogen will be one of the many stop-gap measures pushed at us, while we are on our way to all electic vehicles.

Series gas-electric hybrid cars (like the upcoming Chevrolet Volt) make more sense than hydrogen powered ones.  At least then, the research money is going where it needs to...batteries and electric powertrain efficiency.

I guess I told you more about not-hydrogen powered vehicles than hydrogen powered ones =).  But I hate the hydrogen fuel concept almost as much as the ethanol fuel one.

  7. Okay, hydrogen vehicles are a good choice for the future. They use less gas than the conventional cars, so you won't have to pay for too much gas. It's also better for the environment because it doesn't pollute as much. So, if you wanna get a hydrogen powered vehicle, your on a good path. It's a healthy start for your green life.

    Good luck, though!

  8. They have wheels.
