I recommend Patagonia, my land. It's a cold desert but near the Andes is what we call the "Andean Shire", a group of communities which lives within the forests. There are a lot of lakes and mountains. It's a popular ski resort during winter.

Man just got from there.  The dollar will go a long way there, the cab is cheap, food was too.  I loved Buenos Aires, nice night clubs the people are beautiful and their Spanish is nice to listen to.  Based on my experience I must recommend that you got see a football match at the BOMBONERA, where the BOCA JUNIORS play, it was awesome, try going when they're playing another big team, such as river or another Brazilian team during copa america.  The Tango salons are nice too.  I met this nice girl there and we did everything together, a tour guide with benefits if you know what I mean.  Just  be nice and receptive to their culture, NO AMERICAN DUMB A*S (America is the best on everything attitude) even though we know we are.  

Never speak about the Falkland war, if asked refer to MALVINAS and concede the idea that it should belong to Argentina, not England.

When traveling to Latin American countries I like to stay in Flats (high rise condos) that it's cleaned everyday and they don't try to charge you more if you bring guests over to spend the night.
