RAT RACE

It comes with the rustling of paper

The smell of ink and oil

With a plea in the distance that says "save her"

It never tires, never gives till you're soil

"What else are you here for" it asks

The question without an answer

Indeed what else are you here for but to meet it.

DOES IT EVEN MAKE ANY SENSE ?

  1. ummmm this poem makes no since.....

  2. There is a fine line between c**p and genius in the poetry world....

  3. Crapola in the highest degree.

  4. I think they see the rat race as mostly bureaucracy, they must work for the government as a civil servant (probably in "Hatch, Match and Dispatch" department REGISTRY).

  5. Not to me, what is it about please?x

  6. It's c**p

  7. um it depends how you define poetry. a lot of poetry is about artistically putting your thoughts down. In that way it's very good and insightful. If you mean something that rhymes and everyone loves then ti clearly doesn't hit the mark.

  8. The last line lets it down, but it has merit, it reminds me about the the abduction of Madeline Mccann.

  9. this poem is about life and death. the question being "why are we here"

"it never tires, never gives till you're soil" means that we go on and on in our day to day living until  we die.then we are buried, and eventually turn to soil.

therefore, "what else are you here for but to meet it" means precisely that. from the moment of your birth there is only one definite promise in life, and that is death for everyone.

i quite like the poem. it puts everyone on the same level.there is no distinguishing between colour, religion, rich and poor. we all have the same end.

  10. Loada rubbish, makes no sense at all

  11. HUH???

  12. it makes sense in a metaphoric way.

it's probably from the gold rush times of the us in the 1800 when everyone would scramble from town to town, searching for gold to make their big break, they would toil in the sun till they collapsed, and their bodies gave way, and went back to the earth which they come from.

so yes it does make sense.

maybe not to a average bimbo teenager, but to most of the world, it does.

  13. How is that Poetry. I have no idea what it means it's toooooo random!
