Tell me what you think of this weed killing technique?

I do a lot of things differently to save money and be environmentally friendly... this is just one of them. Doesn't it make sense?

Hot water has been used in tests for quite a few years now. Most companies spray a hot water foam that contains no pesticides. Studies have shown that that this is a temporary solution at best. The heat doesn't last long enough to completely kill the roots like solarization would. Vinegar is also a good temporary weed remover working well with those pesky sidewalk weeds.

You would have be better off just to go at it with a weed-wacker.  It would be faster,  look better, use about the same amount of energy, and resolve the problem for about the same amount of time.

Edit - However, I have used the same technique for killing ant mounds.  It worked pretty well for that, though, it sometimes took a few applications.
