Tell me what you think of this weed killing technique?

I do a lot of things differently to save money and be environmentally friendly... this is just one of them. Doesn't it make sense?

  1. Hot water has been used in tests for quite a few years now. Most companies spray a hot water foam that contains no pesticides. Studies have shown that that this is a temporary solution at best. The heat doesn't last long enough to completely kill the roots like solarization would. Vinegar is also a good temporary weed remover working well with those pesky sidewalk weeds.


  2. Pouring boiling water on weeds is not new there Sparky.............

    You wasted 53 seconds of both of our lives...........

  3. You would have be better off just to go at it with a weed-wacker.  It would be faster,  look better, use about the same amount of energy, and resolve the problem for about the same amount of time.

    Edit - However, I have used the same technique for killing ant mounds.  It worked pretty well for that, though, it sometimes took a few applications.
