  1. We lived in a house for 30 yrs and we had lights that would turn on at night. Doors that would slam, balls would roll out of the hallway, stuff would dissapear and then suddenly reappear in places you know you had looked.  My sister twice saw an older gentleman, once when she looked in the mirror and once outside when she came around her car. Nothing bad ever happened, we always said they were friendly ghosts.

  2. i live in a semi-old house with the normal creaks and groans. but the thing is, sometimes, you can hear whispers when nobody is around. I've lived in this house my whole life and that's how long I've been hearing them. i also see shadow figures in the corner of my eye. they look like heads, body parts and even whole bodies. but their always gone when i go to look closer.

  3. Ghosts are imagination of weak minded.

  4. One night the sweeper was awakened from his dreams by the sound of the parish bells ringing out loudly in the darkness. He leapt to his feet, fearing some emergency, and then realized that his wife and children had not stirred in their beds. Remembering the evil priest's last words, the sweeper felt sure that the mysterious ringing of the bells was for his ears alone, to lead him to the treasure.

Taking his shovel, the sweeper followed the sound of the church bells up and up into the hills. He was gasping for breath when he reached the source of the sound. He was on a wide ledge overlooking the valley. Two trees guarded the spot, and it was beside these trees that the glowing, ghostly church bells hovered. Taking his shovel, the poor sweeper dug a deep hole among the roots of the trees. After several moments, his shovel hit something hard! Eagerly, he swept the dirt away from the object and found a small chest. He hauled it out of the ditch with trembling hands, placed it on a rock, and broke the lock with the edge of his shovel. when he opened it, piles of yellow gold met his dazzled eyes. He gathered up a handful of coins, reveling in the weight of so much money. The coins were cool to his touch, and he felt the smoothness of the metal as he rubbed the coins between his fingers. And that was when he heard the moaning...

Looking up, the sweeper saw the skeleton of the murdered man whom the evil priest had buried with the treasure. It was rising out of the pit under the trees, eye sockets glowing with blue flames. "Mine," the skeleton intoned, stretching its bony arms toward the sweeper. "Mine!"

The sweeper screamed in terror and leapt away from the box of treasure, dropping the coins that he held in his hands. He ran down the hill as fast as he could go, the skeleton in hot pursuit. Behind him, the bells began to ring again as he fled for his life from the ledge.

The sweeper kept running long after the sounds of pursuit ceased, and did not stop until he reached his home. It was only then that he realized he had left his shovel back with the buried treasure on top of the hill. it was an expensive shovel and he could not afford to lose it.

Waiting until daylight, the sweeper went reluctantly back up into the hills to retrieve it. When he reached the ledge, there was no sign of the skeleton, the chest of money, or the hole he had dug the night before. He found his shovel at the top of a tall tree whose first branches began nearly twenty feet above his head. The skeleton must have placed it there after it chased him down the hill, he decided grimly, knowing that there was no way he could retrieve it.

Turning sadly away, the sweeper's eye was caught by a gleam in the bushes near the rock where he had placed the treasure chest the night before. Carefully, keeping his eye on the place where the skeleton lay buried, the sweeper felt around the rock until his hand closed on two gold coins that the ghost had missed. Casually he put the coins in his pocket and hurried from the ledge. When he got home, the sweeper put the coins into a sock and hid it under the floorboard for safekeeping.

The sweeper never went back to the ledge to retrieve the evil priest's buried treasure, though sometimes he was still awakened by the mysterious sound of the bells. He knew it would take someone more pious than himself to banish the ghost of the murdered man and reclaim the money for God. But he did use the gold coins to send his eldest son to school, and with the left-over change, he bought himself a new shovel.

  5. my great grand mother lived in great yarmouth, and her dad was in the navy.

they rented a house, and all seemed fine, one night she went up to bed,i think she was between 10-11 yrs old.

something wooshed padt her ,grabbed her hair and flung her down the stairs.even though she was shaken it was all apparently put down to her looseing her fitting and stumbleing.any how it happened a few times, only ever to her, never to my great grandfather, who was a little younger.she had to be sedated in the end, apparently her dad was something of a hand full, found the letting agent, had him against the wall by the throat, then the story came out.

previously the chap that lived in the house found his wife being unfaithfull, grabbed her by her long dark hair and flung her to her death down the stairs.needless to say they left asap.

this happened a while before the turn of the century,as my grandmother was 82 when she passed away, and that was in 1994.

she wasnt one to tell a fib,so i presume it was on the level.

  6. I have many ghost and spirit stories, experiences since age four, I guess it runs in the family tree on my mother's side.

This was the one that scare me the most.... and I do usually see them, hear and can feel them when they touch.

I work in a hospital late one Oct night, it was ten minutes after midnight. I was in an exam room, I felt something coming on, a nervousness in my stomach, I sometimes sense when things are about to happen. I walked into the hall from room number 14. As soon as my foot hit the rug I looked right down the hall. It came the speed of a human run, it looked like a cloud with a head on it. It stopped and formed it's shape like a human in from of my face close enough to be kissing me. I automatically jumped backwards into the room I came out of. It stood there in front of room 13. It was grayish in color, see through, and broken up. It had a ghost mouth fixed open. It turn it's head to look at me, as I have my hands in front of my face to defend myself, because it startle me so bad. It's thoughts popped in my head, it's thoughts were,"Oh no, I am scaring the h**l out of him", and it did just that. It took off so fast, it appear to look like a bolt of white lighting.

  7. Yes... I have felt being pushed down the stairs of my house by some unearthly force...

  8. i never had an experience myself but, an estranged relative of mines has lived in  house that had a ghost of a deceased woman living in the house that they used to live in.

  9. when i was about 9 years old i started hearing someone say my name. i was normally alone when it happend. i could hear it so clearly as if they were whispering in my ear. then one day i went to take a shower and my back was facing the water. it started getting really hot so i turned around and turned the k**b to the cooler side. i turned back around with my back facing the water. then the water started getting boiling hot and my skin was instantly turning red so i turned around and again turned the k**b to the cooler side. this time i stood there and watched it. i saw the k**b turn all the way to the hot side by itself. i ran out of the shower screaming, grabbed a towel, and told my mom what happend. we ended up moving not much longer after that.

  10. When I was 12, my mom bought an old house (98 yrs. old.) There were only three of us living there, me, my mom & my 8 yr. old brother. Well, when were first moving in, me & my mother were outside unloading the moving truck when my little brother came running outta the house saying there was a man in there. We went in to investigate. Near the bathroom door, we could smell a VERY STRONG aroma of cigar smoke and body odor but could find no one. After that, we would occasionally see the form of a man in an old fashioned hat out of the corner of our eye in this area of the house, but when we would turn our head, he'd be gone. Also, whenever me, my mom or any female who happened to be staying with us would take a shower, you would always smell that very strong aroma of cigar smoke and body odor whenever you stepped out - like the ghost was watching you while you showered. We always made a joke of it, though and said we had a perverted ghost haunting us! Kind creepy, though...

  11. Well, I had one experience that I got to believe in paranormal experiences.

During college days, I lived in a Dormitory. As a bookworm, I stay up late most often.

In one instance, past midnight I went up to my room and as I past by in the corridors i saw a lady with shiny black hair wearing white robes gliding ahead of me.

I reached towards her and said "Hi!" she didn't looked at me so I wondered who was she, 'coz I almost knew all the girls.

Later on I found out that all of my boardmates were all sleeping. And that lady was probably a white lady.

  12. I have never had an experience that has required a paranormal explanation.

If you are dissatisfied with the responses here you could search for identical questions that have been asked in the past (almost daily).  Enjoy!
