  1. Desculpe mas não entendi nada. Só falo , escrevo e entendo português. bjs

  2. this year in Tahiti absolutely sucked.  They had something like seven lay days until they could start the contest in three foot surf.  Obviously, a guy like santos, who is used to riding little crumby waves on the WQS is gonna have an advantage, which allowed him to win.

  3. it's a sick gathering of the best riders.

  4. Good analysis Chris K.  The only thing I wanted to add to that was that Bruno and Monoa are known as pure barrel riders and that obviously gives them a huge advantage at Chopes.  Both are amazing at stalling and getting as deep as possible in the tube and then have the ability to ride it out and get sick long rides out of it.  That is particularly what the judges are looking for out there and what gets the 10 pt rides.  To me, I'm more impressed when a guy can ride the barrel for a while then come out, do a serious roundhouse cutback, and then maybe catch an air/floater at the end of his ride.  To me, that shows a more impressive array of moves and shows you are an all-around surfer.  Monoa definitely makes barrel-riding look beautiful (He friggin' grew up on the reef at Teahupoo, lucky b*****d) but what is he doing on the rest of the WQS stops?  Not much.

  5. It was definately an odd contest. It seems that, at least for the past couple years, Chopes gets camera shy. It just doesn't fire during the contests that much, idk why. The trials were sick, to the point where it was just gnarly sets, and then it dies down into c**p. I guess Billabong just has terrible timing. I wouldn't necessarily say Santos had any advantage. It was def. rare to have an all wildcard final. I was hoping Jamie O would win it though, that woulda been sick.

Idk, it was def. an odd contest. its a round robin tourny, and Santos and Manoa were both placed at the bottom, which makes the outcome even more amazing. and Manoa, posting two perfect tens, just amazing. I mean, he took out Slater not once but twice, in round 1 and 3. And Santos eliminated Taj and CJ, both really good riders too. Idk maybe they did excel in the smaller waves. Also, slats coming in 17 made the asp tour competitive again, which is gonna be exciting, now the pressure is really on. nine surfers are all a contest or two away from being in the lead, its gonna be a race.

also, the dane V jordy heat was amazing, backside airs by jordy were gnar. i dont know which is better, its too early to tell, but its bout time they were matched up. Overall, slighty dissapointing contest.

Edit* Thanks B-Money, I'm not too familiar with Santos and Manoa, but I agree.
