Tell me your thoughts about Kermit Cintron opinion about Cotto-Margarito fight?

He's right because margarito is a pressure fighter with a strong chin. Margarito is like Chavez or Frazier (not as good) He is the type of fighter that your going to have to have an extremely large advantage over or you going have to be a well schooled boxer Cotto is neither. I always hear people talking about Cotto can box he can but granted the level of competition guys like Alfonso Gomez he can outbox guys like Margartio he cant if you look at when Shane Mosley was putting the heat on Miguel he only won the fight by two rounds on the score cards. I really dont think he is going to out box Margarito once Cot to gets hit he instinct is going to kick in and he is going to go back to what he does best being a puncher and Margartio has a great chin. Cotto on the other hand doesn't we have seen him on wobbly legs before and I think Margartio will knock Cotto out or get a late stoppage.

Kermit Cintron is horrible, he looked like an idiot out there against Margorito.  Imagine if he was fighting Cotto.

kermit is mad that he got beat twice by margarito Cotto would have destroyed cintron worst than margo. Cotto's jab will make the difference in his fight with margo, if margo cant KO Cotto than he definitly aint winning by decision.

Well, Cintron has been in the ring twice against Margarito, so he knows from experience what Miguel Cotto is up against. Antonio Margarito is very tough and is a high volume puncher. Cotto has shown in the past that he can get rocked, so it wouldn't be surprising, if we see that a couple of times..... maybe even a stoppage. Margarito is not to be overlooked at all by Miguel Cotto. Folks are talking about finale matchup with Oscar and Cotto as if a Cotto victory over Margarito is a done deal. Cotto has to get test a high mountain in Margarito and it will be a great climb.

Cintron is a one dimensional fighter.  Great power and that is about it.

I think Cotto will win because he has more options.  Cotto can box, trade, work in or out, jab, move etc.

Margarito's only option is to get inside and trade bodyshots.

i disagree with cintron.cotto is a great fighter hes beaten zab judah,shane mosley,paul malignaggi,carlos quintana,ricardo torres and demarcus corley.all current or former world champs.margarito has losses against rodney jones,larry dixon,victor lozoya.do you know who any of these guys are i don't.he is a good fighter but not good enough to beat cotto.unfortuanately people keep hoping everyone that fights cotto is the one that can beat him.they all said shane almost had him...if almost was a win i would be world champion a millionaire and fighting beautiful women off me.fact of matter is mosley didn't have what it takes to finish cotto.why......because cotto hits like a brick $hit house and is great at working the body.case closed cotto wins by ko in 9th round then goes on to fight floyd mayweather jr.now thats going to be a fight.

Well, I would expect Kermit Cintron to say that after getting man-handled by Antonio Margarito twice in brutal fashion.  As far as what I think about Cotto-Margarito; well for starters, Kermit Cintron is no Miguel Cotto and secondly, it will be a great fight and it really could go either way.  I believe that Cotto has the better boxing skills while Margarito is the better pressure fighter.  I don't expect Cotto to stay on the inside for long periods of time because if he did, Margarito would be too much for him.  I think that Cotto will use his better boxing skills, like he did with Shane Mosley to fight Margarito.  Could Margarito stop Cotto?  Absolutely.  Do I think he will?  Probably not, but its a definate possibility.  I'm really on the fence as far as this fight goes, but if I HAD to make a prediction, I'll say that Cotto uses his better boxing ability to counter Margarito's effective agression and outpoints him by a very close decision in a great fight.  I could be wrong and Margarito could blow him out, but I don't think that will happen.

Cotto show boxing skills against Gomez. That wasn't hard to do. Mosley rocked Cotto a couple of times and Cotto got on his bike because of his stamina issues. In the 10th, Cotto got rocked and they stop it for water on the mat. Cotto don't have the boxing skills to beat Margo but I could be wrong. These are the boxing skills he would need and just a jab doesn't make you a boxer.

Mental/Smarts

Defense/Stamina

Leg/ring movement

Head movement

Know when to sit down on his punches.

Pop Shot/Counter punching.

Speed

fighting going backwards and on the ropes at times.

When to hold to get out of danger.

Effective jab

Can adjust when your plan is not going right.

Cotto has never had to fight like this in his career. This is not saying Cotto, is not a good fighter but just dont have these skills. Only one person in boxing have these skills and some. There not tomanny trainer teach this way of fighting.

Kermit has seen Margarito twice and has got ted beat both times..he knows margo well and Kermit might be right....in the other hand Kermit should shut up cuz hes no longer a contending boxer, he can cry about that.....
