when we were little we used to see these weeds and play with it all the time. They were called touch me nots. You touch them and the leaves would close wait for a while and they would open again only to close again and again everytime you touched them. I dont know the botanical name for it. I havent seen it in ages. Where did you see them?

wild impatiens(pale jewelweed) -is known as the touch me not plant and it is called that because when you touch the plant the seed pod ruptures and sprays seeds all over the place, the leaves don't fold on it though.

the sap from the wild impatien will work as a anti-itch agent if you get into poison ivy, rub the sap on the rash and it will dry up.
