Telling where a package/letter came from?

Is it possible to tell from a parcel or a letter where it was sent from? e.g. I am in the USA and was sent a letter or parcel from England..would it be possible to tell whereabouts in England the letter or a parcel was sent from?

not sure if put this in the right category - sorry!

  1. the stamp on the package should give you a clue


  2. Yes..... They put a franking mark over the stamp with the Town of the Sorting office written in it

  3. It would be odd it the stamp didn't say. Most posts have a return address. If posted from UK below the post code it will be indicated by the sender.

    Experience with international post.
