I went to the dentist to take care of the cavities on my upper teeth and I need a root canal on one of them. He put a temporary "medicine" thats what he called it anyways, on it because it takes 1-2 months to get insurance approval for the root canal. And All I saw was some grey clay like substance on my tooth. Well It fell out... I have another appointment on monday. Anyone ever been in the same situation?

  1. The temporary filling is a putty-like material with soothing properties to help keep you more comfortable until you're able to have the root canal. To make the putty, a powder and a liquid are mixed together and then (keeping your tooth as dry as possible) the putty is placed in the cavity. Depending on the powder/liquid ratio and how dry the tooth was, the filling can fall out (which yours did), or last the entire one or two months. It's very common for them to fall out, but it can cause you discomfort to have your tooth exposed this way. If it should happen at nighttime or over the weekend when your dentist can't be reached, you can buy a temporary filling material at the drugstore that will work pretty much the same way.

  2. THIS TEMP WILL JUST GET REPLACED UNTIL YOU GET THE RC
