Temp gauge got hot when starting my 1995 dodge avenger?

temp gauge goes to the hottest level real fast when I start driving.

what should I do?

  1. if you start your car after a cold night for example and the temp gauge goes up fast, then you have to replace the temp senders

    cars dont heat up like a microwave...


  2. you may have a stuck thermostat on it ,if the car is actually running hot don't drive it like that it will only make matters worse on it,this could also be a bad head gasket also,have a shop or someone do a pressure test on it to see if its loosing pressure or if the sending unit has went out on it,usually when sending unit goes bad they wont read anything ,so if its reading all the way hot it could be that or the engine is actually getting that hot that fast.have it checked,you don't really want to get that one hot,it will cause a lot of damage to it,good luck.
