  1. No its not just you. But I have to work night shifts.I have to  report to workplace at 6PM and stay on duty till 6AM following morning and must be awake and alert throughout the shift. It is uncomfortably sticky at work around midnight but gradually gets more comfortable and is quite cool even shivery before sunrise up to end of my shift. Then when I get home around 6-45am very ready to collapse into my bed for my day's sleep it is beautifully cool. So I sleep OK in my blacked out room, but from about midday it begins to get less and less comfortable so getting me up sweating around 2pm.

for a cool shower. Then another cycle of the same. So may be night work will suit a gentile and tranquile guy like you better?

  2. The temperature usually gets to its lowest just before or at sunrise.  There is no incoming solar radiation at night, and at night, heat from the surface leaves and cools the ground.  As the night goes on, the longer there has been for heat release from the surface, the cooler it gets...its actually a kind of simple process.  This is why it's coolest just before sunrise, there has been the longest amount of time for heat to release and cool the ground. So at 2am, it may still be a little warmer.
