Temporary Disability?

Question

I am currently 26 weeks pregnant and am being told that i might have to be put on bed rest for the remainder of my pregnancy (preterm labor problems). Could i qualify for temporary disability in Utah? I had saved the money so i could be out of work for the 6 weeks of maternity leave, but I do not have enough saved for our family to get by for the next 4 months. Is this a possibility, I am just not sure what to do right now. Thank your help.

You should be able to, I live in Ohio and was put on bedrest @ 24 weeks for the remainder of my pregnancy.  Check with your employer.  I only got a percentage and it was only for 12 weeks, but boy did it help.  Good luck

I live in California....But we get disability for things like that. In fact i was on bed rest the first 2 months of my pregnancy due to bleeding, and then at 37 weeks they put me back on due to uterine contractions. My doctor knew all about the disability. So did my work. So i would ask them. Good Luck!

If your Dr. has said you can't work, it could be possible.  Refer to this website for more information.
