Temporary chicane not going to be part of 2011 Brazilian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Recent reports have revealed that the 2011 Formula 1 Brazilian Grand Prix which is expected to take place at the Interlagos circuit is not going to use the temporary chicane.
The Brazilian Grand Prix is considered as one of the most dangerous Formula 1 circuits and recently, a couple of fatal accidents took place at the circuit as a result of which the organisers of the venue want to keep it as safe as possible and avoid such
incidents.
“Formula 1 ... will not use the chicane,” a report said.
Other than that, Interlagos is going to host the final race of the 2011 Formula 1 season unlike the past couple of years as the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix took over that responsibility.
Since the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi is not as entertaining and opportunity-giving as the Brazilian circuit, the organisers of the sport decided to make this change to the Formula 1 calendar in order to make the final race of the sport as entertaining
as possible for the fans.
There were also rumours that the organisers of Interlagos have also decided to get rid of a grandstand near the temporary chicane but that is not going to be done until the 2011 Brazilian Grand Prix which is expected to take place in November.
Nevertheless, the report also revealed that other motorsport events which are expected to take place at the same venue will use this temporary chicane in their respective events.
According to the current statistics of the 2011 Formula 1 season, it seems that the final race of the season might not be a grand finale for the drivers as Sebastian Vettel is currently leading the championship quite comfortably 80 points ahead of his closest
rival, his teammate Mark Webber.
However, the Brazilian Grand Prix is one of the most entertaining events of a Formula 1 season and the fans will be looking forward to it even if the race is not as important as it should be in terms of drivers’ and constructors’ championships.
