I have just graduated from 4yr college University of Louisville and I will be moving to Houston to temporarily live with my family. I was wondering if anyone knew of any temporary adoption services as I have 2 cats 6yrs old and the other 2yrs they are both dear to me and there is no way I can house them at my families home as 2 of my family members have sevear allergies to cats so this is not an option. Dont know what to do if anyone knows and temporay adoption resources would greatly appreciate it

  1. You could always try boarding the animals or having a friend take them for the short while you'll be with your family.  I suppose another option would be to keep the cats outdoors in a feline enclosure...you can build a large enclosure for them out of chicken wire and wood so they'll be protected but still with you.  Below is a link for an example.

  2. Adoption isn't temporary - I think your only options are friends or extended family (giving them the food and litter necessary to care for your friends) or boarding the pets, as the first poster said.

How long is 'temporary'?  Two weeks?  Two months?  Two years?  Consider trying to get an apartment instead of moving in with family.  Otherwise, you may have to help your cats find new homes.
