What are the best places to live in manhattan, i need some place very safe for a young pretty white girl with no street smarts... like chelsea, upper west side, etc?

Nowhere! The East Coast sucks ***! The people back there are rude as h**l and the weather is bone-chilling cold all the time. Plus, I won't go anywhere near NYC while Osama Bin Laden is still alive and half the world is pissed off at us.

Long island, or upper east side! But upper west side is better for a student. I hope this helps. but follow your instinct if you find a great apartment then go for it! Good luck

Spanish Harlem lol.... You could try brooklyn, theres a lot of white neighborhoods in brooklyn, or queens. Fresh meadow Queens is basically the suburbs. or north Bronx.

Chelsea's expensive, your not going to find a decent apartment under $2000. I strongly suggest a different borough, manhatten is too expensive. the subway from Bronx to manhatten is 10 minutes so you can still find a cheap apartment and still be close by.
