Eric Cantona is a retired French footballer who used to play at the forward position. He was suspended for eight months as he kicked a fan in the stands but when he came back, he proved everyone wrong who said that he just did not have it any more and set
the books straight.
He started his professional football career with Auxerre in 1983 where he spent the next five years making eighty three appearances with twenty four goals scored.
Then he spent a loan spell with Martigues then made a move to Marseille where he spent the next two years with forty appearances made with thirteen goals. Then he spent another two loan spells with Bordeaux and Montpellier. Then in 1991, he made a move to
Nimes but after a year, made a move to the Leeds United in the English Premier League.
Then after twenty eight appearances, he moved to Manchester United in 1992 where he spent the next five years and gave a hundred and forty four appearances with sixty four goals for the Red Devils.
He reached the peak of his career with Red Devils and is still remembered by most Old Trafford fans. Eric Cantona was a very entertaining and a charismatic player, he is called a player with a personality that is rarely seen in the world of football.
Eric Cantona won four English Premier League titles, cup doubles and two league cups. He made history when he scored a goal with a chip near the penalty box and celebrated it in style.
Roy Keane: £3.7m
Roy Keane is another Irish player who made history after coming to Old Trafford. He is currently 39 years old and a retired footballer but now works on the management side.
He started his youth career with Rockmouth in 1979 where he spent a full decade after which he made it to Cobh Ramblers in 1989 and after 12 appearances as a midfielder, made a move to Nottingham Forest in 1990.
He then gave another hundred and fourteen performances for Nottingham Forest in the next three years only to move to Manchester United.
He came to Old Trafford in 1993 and spent the next twelve years giving a whopping 323 appearances with 33 goals. He also spent one year with Celtics before retiring from professional football in 2006 after making ten appearances for them.
Roy Keane will always be remembered as a great leader at Old Trafford, he gave Manchester United seven English Premier League titles, a Champions League title and four FA Cup wins in his tenure.
He was a Sir Alex Ferguson favourite in the squad and even the Scottish manager once commented that he is a selfless player on the football field and inspires fellow players around him.
