Hi. (:

I wanted to set up a ten gallon and get some BRIGHT little fishies. Would a ten gallon be suitable for a dwarf gourami? I have one in another tank that gets picked on... Would there be room for a school of maybe, 7 neon tetras with a dwarf gourami? Any other little schoolers that can go with the dwarf? I'm not very fond of danios...

Thanks for reading. (:

  1. Yes 10 gallons is enough for 1 dwarf gourami and 7 neon tetras. 7 tetras will be very happy in a 10 gallons tank but don't feed them as you know 7 neons are p**p machines. Gourami is like the leader of the tank!

I got bigger tank but i like 10 or 20 gallons the best because they are easier to change water, so don't depress about your 10 gallons.

  2. yes but make sure to keep the tank around 82-86 degrees Fahrenheit

  3. Yes a 10 gallon is good for a dwarf gourami and the neons. You could also add a couple platys, a snail for the algae (or an American Flag Fish), and at least 3 corys for bottome feeders. It will be a very nice tank.

  4. Dont blame you on Danio's but yes a 10 gal would be fine a 20 long would be better for Dwarfs but 10 would be ok. Neons are good fishes for tank mates also try Guppies (pending on how you feel about them)

they are cheap and the Gourami if needs be can use the  fry  as extra protein if the population gets too much.

  5. Hey, I like the idea of a schooling fish with the gourami. You can get 6 neons with the gourami and that would be fine. Have fun with the fish.
