Ten gallon saltwater???? light question

i have a 24w fixture on my ten gallon tank. can i grow any corals

  1. If they're the standard fluorescent, T8 tubes, you could try, but you would be VERY limited.  If you're lucky, you could keep some Zoanthids or Xenia alive, but they won't grow nearly as well as if you had T5s or a metal halide.  Definitely don't jump into hard corals, or any of the other light-hungry species.


  2. I'd have to agree, you will have to stick with low light soft corals. Just to give you a better idea, on my frag growout 10 gallon tank, I'm running 130W PC's (65W of 7000K and 65W of Actinic) and still have a hard time with stoneys in that tank from time to time.

  3. To grow corals you will need to have a fluorescent light.  You should check with your local pet shop about where to get one.
