Tenant and landlord question - repair to washing machine?

I rent privatly and the washing is part of the tenancy, however this is damaging clothes therefore I am unable to use it. How long does the landlord have to make repairs or replace the washing machine?

I would think that it being part of the lease that a washer is furnished within 3 days...If not fixed within a week I would keep up with any fees washing clothes away from home..to include the gas to get back and forth to the laundrymat

If your renting is based on the washing machine, then right now but, if it's just part of the bargain, then ? To keep a good relationship with your landlord I would suggest you speak with him and maybe split the cost, you are using it, are you not ?

If the laundry is a part of your rental agreement, the landlord has a "reasonable" time to have the machine repaired.

If not, you are out of luck.

A "reasonable" time is usually 5 working days to repair or replace the machine.
