  1. I have had it in my heel before for an entire year. Tendonitis tends to take awhile to go away.

In the meantime waiting for it to ease up is to:

Ice it down- several times a day

Get a wrist splint or something to immobilize that area so the tendon doesn't slip around anymore.

Take an inflammatory- Motrin works well.

You can get cortisone shots. This is for extreme pain and would have to ask your doctor about.

This is about all your can do.

Surgery is the last option and only if it is ongoing and won't stop.

  2. Do contrast baths, if you have a double sink put cold water in one, and warm water in the other. Start dipping your hand in the cold water first for about 30 seconds, then on warm for 30 seconds then just keep repeating that process for 15 minutes. Always end in cold water. This should help the swelling. Other thing you have to do is try to figure out what caused it, you can buy one of those wrist support from walgreens, rite aid or any pharmacy store you have close buy. If it is possible, rest the wrist as much as you can. Try to avoid pinching, twisting motions.
