Tendulkar plummets for 80, once again flunks 100th ton tryout – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556, once again, was on the verge of scoring his 100th century just when he lost his wicket for 80, on day 4 of the ongoing 2nd Test against the Aussies, 6th January, Thursday. Unfortunately, the master blaster
went back to the pavilion abased by Australia’s bowling brilliance.
The legendary batsman’s blunder of moving forward to strike a ball from Clarke cost him his wicket. The game was intermitted for lunch when the Little Master was on 70, after scoring his 65th half-century in the longest format of the game. The
Indian great was unprepared for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120’s occasional yet fatal spin that eventually corroded his innings after lunch.
Tendulkar, 38, moved ahead to play on the front foot giving away an outside edge, which headed off to Mike Hussey, slip, after hitting wicketkeeper Brad Haddin’s gloves. A miss by Haddin but an impressive catch by Hussey marked the end of Sachin's sweet
and sour innings.
Tendulkar racked up his 99th international century in an ODI match Nagpur against the South Africans in the 2011 World Cup. Since then, the sure-handed batsman has been trying his level best to reach his 100th ton but to no avail. This
was the Master Blaster’s 21st tryout, and regrettably he failed once again.
Before the series started, Sachin’s 100th ton hype was being considered an omen for him. Many former players and cricket analysts around the globe were of the view that the hype and expectations is pressurizing the player. However, the Indians
covered it up by refuting such statements and saying that Tendulkar is known for his composure and that he knows how to avoid falling prey to media hype.
On the other hand, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chinnadupargea-Sachin-c50607 to be under-pressure. He previously had said (before the 2nd Test), “We’ve heard talk today of choking … he batted really well, he was really
positive, and then I suppose late in the day it looked as though he just shut up shop so he could be there tomorrow. Everyone’s making it (the record) a big deal and there’s been a lot of media about it as he’s been on the verge for so long. It’s got to be
playing on his mind, there’s no doubt about that".
