Tendulkar under increasing pressure to retire – Cricket News Update
Underperforming in international cricket for almost two years now, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556, one of the greatest batsmen of the history of the game, is under extreme pressure from different ranks to announce his retirement.
With more than 34 thousand runs at the highest stage of the sport and 100 international tons, Tendulkar holds almost all the batting records. Since making his Test debut in 1989, the batting-maestro has held the Indian side together,
winning a number of matches single-handedly.
However, the little-master, according to many former cricketers, has gone past his best. Tendulkar’s last Test century came in January, 2011. After a poor series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 this year, the former Indian skipper is struggling
to deliver the goods against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 at home, although he scored a timely 76 in the recently-finished Kolkata Test.
His former teammate, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chinnadupargea-Sachin-c50607 should be allowed
to decide about his future, being one of the modern-day greats.
Ganguly expressed, “Sachin desperately needs to get runs. He has achieved a lot. He is getting a long rope because of what he has achieved.  As somebody watching it from outside Tendulkar [is] not performing, I think if I was Tendulkar I would go. But it's
up to him at the present moment.”
India’s former cricketer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohinder-Amarnath-Bhardwaj-c77565, has also echoed Ganguly’s views and said without taking anything away from the great batsman that his time is over now.
“Sachin is a great cricketer. He has been playing for many years. Now he cannot play the way he was playing earlier. The time comes for everybody,” he believes.
Apart from many ex-Indian players, there are some foreign cricket pundits who think that the cricketer from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Michael-Paul-Vaughan-c76145 feels that Tendulkar’s retirement will be beneficial
for the Men in Blue.
“It is time for Tendulkar, great player that he is, to walk away now for the sake of the Indian team,” he said.
