Tennessee Titans’ Bud Adams denies taking harsh decisions after Green Bay Packers' loss – NFL News
Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams has categorically rejected suggestions to make some important decisions after his team’s humiliating loss to the hosts Green Bay Packers on Sunday (Dec. 23).
Bud said neither he had taken any decision yet and nor was going to make one immediately, but insisted they needed to sit together to discuss performance of the entire squad, after their 7-55 defeat to the Packers. He conceded it was an
embarrassing loss and they cannot keep losing games like the one they lost to the Packers.
The owner said:
"We can't keep losing games like we lost today, and I mean it.”
He added:
"We've played some good games and looked pretty good at times. But we just need to sit down and go over everything, which I'm not making any decision now. I have to sit down with them and get their views and their points on things and
go from there."
His remarks came after a similar statement from coach Mike Munchak, who apparently looked for answers to somehow satisfy the owner, who had already put all the officials, including coaches, on an informal notice.
Munchak said:
"That's just not acceptable and we let it happen. Thank God we have that (game next week) because I wouldn't want this to be our last game of the year."
Almost the entire season has been a dismal show-off for the Titans, who progressed to 9-7 in 2011, and fell shy of the playoff opportunity, during first year of Munchak as head coach of the side.
This year’s 5-10 record is nowhere closer to the previous season’s ending, and only single game to go in the season there is no hope they can achieve that now.
Adams is already furious about the way the team had started and then progressed in the season. He had put all the officials on a notice, at about mid of the season to improve. Otherwise all of them would be made to face scrutiny.
He then went on to approve sacking of offensive coordinator Chris Palmer towards end of the second quarter of the season. He was replaced by Tom Moore as an OC but there is no respite in the team’s losing streak even then.
Now commentators have projected some harsh decisions coming from the owner, although he has so far avoided going to that extent.
