Tennessee Titans LB Colin McCarthy’s immediate future uncertain with concussion – NFL News
A big question mark lingers on immediate future of Tennessee Titans linebacker Colin McCarthy, as after being held out of training on Friday (Dec. 07) because of a concussion injury there is a fear among circles around the player that current season that
has only three games left after this weekend might well be over for him.
Colin returned to do routine workout with teammates, but was taken off the field after being uncomfortable with his recovery level. He had done some limited training earlier in the week and there was a hope he might be able to endure full session without
any problem whatsoever.
Coach Mike Munchak said:
"We're not happy with where he's at right now, and it's probably good to rest him for another week. He's progressing, but with more activity, he's just not ready to play in a football game. He needs to be a little better than he is right now in order to
play in a game on Sunday. So we just ruled him out."
He added:
"It's been a tough year for him. It's been frustrating for Colin and for the team."
Munchak did not highlight if he has any chances of being taken back in the squad this season, which is almost over for the Titans. The team has only four wins so far and four games to go with no playoff hopes.
In that case the players like McCarthy have sufficient time to recover from the head injury and rehab. The situation is expected to become clear in next couple of games, irrespective of the outcome of the games.
As mentioned by the coach, it is rather unfortunate for the player that he is going to miss the action second time this season. He had earlier missed four straight games in the season with a high sprained ankle and with so many more feared to be missed by
him; he overall has remained unhealthy and unfit for a greater part of the season.
