Tennessee Titans WR Kenny Britt likely to get suspension by NFL, flays team fine – NFL News
Tennessee Titans’ wide receiver Kenny Britt has slightly hinted at expected punishment including suspension from the professional league regulator – National Football League (NFL) – following his meeting with commissioner Roger Goodell
but declined to give details of his moot with the league’s boss.
When Kenny was asked specifically if he worries a suspension, he said any player will do so if he faces the commissioner twice in a year for the same mistake or fault.
He said:
"Everybody should be worried if they see the commissioner twice in one year."
Kenny added:
"I regret every incident in my life the same. The things I did in the past you have to learn from all our mistakes. I'm going to learn from every mistake that I do in life. I'm going to learn from mistakes that people do in their life
and move forward."
The player, however, refused to give details of the meeting, saying:
"It was a personal meeting. I'd rather wait to see what happens. I'll go off what off his decision is. I'm a man about what I did and I'm going to take it on the chin, whatever he decides, and move forward."
Britt is facing the charge of driving under the influence (DUI) and driving through a military establishment gate in the drunken state last month. He was arrested and then released by the police.
This was his latest run-in with the law enforcers. He had been facing same troubles in the past and had a meeting with Roger in August last year. The commissioner had then let him go unpunished, which does not seem to be a possibility
this time.
Titans have placed Britt on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list because of a number of lingering injury problems. He will have to clear physical on his return to action.
Meanwhile, Britt has severely criticised the choice of his team to fine him $9,915 earlier in the day for missing the rehab work, which he said will add to the financial difficulties for his family.
Although the player sounds to be serious to get back on the career track he is expected to face certain difficulties in the process. It will also be a time-consuming exercise for him.
