Tennessee Titans WR Kenny Britt returns to action after year-long troubles – NFL News
All the troubles stemming from injuries and off-field disciplinary issues that Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt has gone through since last year seem to be over finally and for the time being at least as the player returned to practice for the
first time on Wednesday.
Kenny was limited in the workout during his first appearance on the field in the second week of the season. He missed the team’s season opener against the New England Patriots to serve a game-ban, which he had been handed by the National Football League
(NFL) for his arrest on charge of driving under the influence (DUI) during this offseason.
Also, it was the first-ever workout of the receiver with new offence leader quarterback Jake Locker, who himself did not take part in full practice on Wednesday, returning from a separated shoulder injury he had suffered in the season opener.
This reminds of a similar situation that Britt had been through last year; he did not have much time to work with the then leader quarterback Matt Hasselbeck on joining the team just before the start of the season.
He nevertheless is happy about working with them:
"We've got two great quarterbacks. They're going to make me look good so hopefully I can do the same thing for them, and today was a great practice for both quarterbacks. I was out there with both of them and it felt good."
The receiver is expected to play with both quarterbacks. After Locker’s injury Matt replaced him in the last game and this is how the situation is likely to progress for the rest of the season.
Locker has praised Britt’s struggle to successfully overcome his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and medial collateral ligament (MCL) injuries, which he suffered in third game of the Titans' past season. He has had three surgeries on the knee since the
first blow.
He said:
"Kenny's a difference-maker. When he's at his best, he's probably one of the best in the league. It's always nice to have those guys on your side."
Other members of the team also have similar expectations from Britt and if he is able to sustain a long-term fitness and form, and avoids off-field troubles, the Titans can expect a great run from him.
