Tennessee Titans beat Indianapolis Colts over weekend – NFL News
Matt Hasselbeck’s throw for 224 yards and a touchdown powered the Tennessee Titans to register a timely win against Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, October 30th.
Titans coach Mike Munchak said that his side knew about the things they would look to improve in their coming games, but the win on Sunday against Colts was most welcome.
"Obviously, the win's the bottom line, and there's things we know we've got to improve upon," the coach Munchak said. "But it's good to get to 4-3 the way the last two weeks went. We're going to enjoy this."
The Titans ensured a win despite the sacking of their key player, Curtis Painter. In addition to being sacked twice in the match, Painter was intercepted twice.
Nate Washington succeeded to score twice in the game to make sure that the Titans were out victorious 27-10.
The Colts who were already without their key player Peyton Manning, who was seen signing autographs for his fans near end of match, never looked threatening to defeat or give a tough time to the Titans. They were trailing 0-20
by the halftime.
At one stage the Colts had outclassed the Tennessee at 399-311 and it looked they might put some pressure on their rivals but that never happened through their games. They even could not overcome 10 penalties for 60 yards
"I think we had eight in the first half or something like that, which is highly uncharacteristic of us," Colts coach Jim Caldwell said. "You couple that with a couple turnovers, it's a tough day."
They however managed to pull to 20-10 when Donald Brown helped them capped an 80-yard  drive. It was at a four yard with 13:39 minutes to go. They got their only sack, Hasselbeck. They also forced Titans to punt 9.39 minutes left
to the game, but their defensive line with Jason Jones on end tipped Painter’s pass in the air.
The Tennessee Titans in the meantime kept rotating their backs in order to fix their running game. This was a work that kept them in progress.
Titans’ Chris Johnson said that they must not be used to the rotation as the club had not been really using that tactic since 2008, but it had paid them off on Sunday. "The running game hasn't been where we wanted it to be all
year, so I guess they just trying new things," he said.
The team had reshuffled its offence line time and again due to injuries. There were a number of players with injuries. Left tackle Anthony Castonzo, left guard Joe Reitz, right guard Ryan Riem and left to right tackle Jeff Linkenbach
were all out with injuries.
With this win the Tennessee club has improved by 63-37 in the 100th game at LP field.  They are 3-1 home in the current season under Munchak.
