Tennessee Titans boost offensive line as last resort to save season – NFL News
The Tennessee Titans as a last resort to a stage a turnaround in the closing games of the season have strengthened offensive line by adding two offensive linemen to the squad, and placed two players on the injured reserve list to accommodate the new arrivals.
First player to sign with the team is offensive tackle Daniel Baldridge. He has been picked off Jacksonville Jaguars’ practice squad. Terms of his deal are not disclosed by the team or the players himself, and this includes tenure and value of the contract.
He has replaced safety Robert Johnson on the roster. Robert injured a ligament in his foot during past weekend’s game against the Houston Texans, and is likely to rest on the sideline while recovering from it for the rest of the season. The team is yet to
confirm if the season is over for him.
Other signee is Kyle DeVan, who has been added to the squad from the Titans’ own waivers. DeVan was released by the team on 2nd of this month and retaken after a couple of days. Terms of his deal have also not been disclosed by either party.
He has replaced injured right tackle David Stewart on the roster. The Titans have put him on the injured reserve list. He broke his leg in the Texans’ game last week. The season is certainly over for him given he has suffered a serious blow.
The Titans with only four wins so far this season are struggling to put up some respectable show during the closing phase of the season. So far, they have failed to make an impression on the field even though they are the same old unit who finished just
short of the playoffs at 9-7 in 2011.
It is pertinent to note that the team has already been put on an informal warning by owner Bud Adams, and offensive coach Chris Palmer has already been removed.
With four more games to go to finish the regular season, the Titans will be unable to match even last year’s record even if they win all the games. It poses a big challenge to head coach Mike Munchak.
