Tennessee Titans coach Mike Munchak hopes QB Jake Locker returns soon from shoulder injury – NFL News
The Tennessee Titans are upbeat about the recovery pace of quarterback Jake Locker, although the offence leader is yet to return to practice since suffering shoulder injury in their last game versus Houston Texans.
Jake has twice injured the same shoulder, including the first time in the season opener, and on both occasions has escaped a possibility of a serious injury. The latest scan results have cleared him of suffering a structural damage to his left shoulder and
now coach Mike Munchak has boasted speedy rehab of the player.
Still, the coach has refrained from giving a guaranteed return of the QB for the next game, leaving it to his ability to practise and train during the course of this week.
The QB was absent from the team’s practice on Monday because he had to undergo scans to determine the nature of his injury.
Irrespective of the injury scare, Locker has too much at stake as far as his performance as the offence leader is concerned. Although he has been reasonable in form, he is still to give a match-winning performance.
With him doubtful for the next game, QB Matt Hasselbeck stands getting another opportunity to start offence for the side in the next game. He replaced Locker for nearly three quarters in the last game.
The Titans are struggling to come out of bad form this season as things have not worked to their favour from the very outset. They have only a single win so far, and a couple of more losses will push them far behind their competitors.
Although coach Munchak has not lost hope yet, expecting the side to bounce back strongly on the poor start, their future success will depend on their offence leader, either Locker or Hasselbeck, and other key players on the offensive and defensive lines.
Finally, the good news for them is that running back Chris Johnson appeared to have started regaining his lost form, which made him one of the most successful rushers in the league. He achieved 2,006 yards record in 2009, but lately went drastically down.
