Tennessee Titans coach Mike Munchak pleads another chance from owner Bud Adams – NFL News
Tennessee Titans coach Mike Munchak has hoped for another chance from owner Bud Adams for his team’s rebuilding with a belief that a season or a season-and-a-half was not enough time for him that he has spent with players, although analysts see no or a little
hope for Munchak to win another opportunity from the owner.
Bud had categorically denied making any decision following the miserable 7-55 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday December 23, but insisted he would sit with all staff, including coaches, to discuss the matter in detail.
The owner insisted losing a game was different from losing ugly and they cannot keep on losing games the way they did against the Packers.
His remarks were in addition to his earlier informal notice to all officials to improve the team’s performance or else face scrutiny. It was about at the mid of the season, and although the Titans have managed to pull off about a pair of victories since
then, their overall performance has gone even worse.
It is pertinent to note that the team has sacked offensive coordinator Chris Palmer since the notice from the owner, but he has been patient since then.
Now coach Munchak has pleaded the owner to apply the same level of patience with other officials. Although the team have lost games, he has a hope they can do better in the future.
The coach said:
"You can't lose perspective of the fact that sometimes it takes a little longer to build something than one season or a season-and-a-half. We've had one offseason here since I have been head coach, so we haven't had a lot of time with the players. We have
a short period of time to fix it, but I feel very confident that we will.”
He added:
"But I feel good about how we are going to get there, and it will be up to Mr. Adams to see if he agrees with me."
Munchak has backed the Titans give a good performance in the season’s final game so that their memories of the worst loss to the Packers do not remain fresh in the longer run.
