Tennessee Titans coach Mike Munchak says 0-2 not panic point, calls for calm – NFL News
Tennessee Titans coach Mike Munchak has refused to budge to pressure for a reshuffle in the team’s offensive line given quarterback Jake Locker has overall been unable to help the team as much as he had been anticipated that could have helped them stage
victories in starting two games of the season which they have lost to different oppositions.
Mike insists the opinion against the fresh offence leader could have swayed to his side if the team had won both initial games and that loss does not mean that Locker is not a right fit for the starting line.
The coach said:
"If we didn't think he could help us win these two games, he wouldn't have started so I'll just leave it at that. Is he making mistakes because he's a rookie or first-year starter? I don't' know. Is he throwing a bad ball because it's the first time he's
played on the road? I don't buy into any of that stuff."
While the official refused to succumb to the demand for any change in the squad, he has appealed for calm and patience at the team’s headquarters. He emphasised it is too early to press the panic button and blame any particular player for the losses.
He added:
"We're starting off not playing the thought we would so does that mean we panic? No definitely not. We have too much work ahead of us. There's too much football to be played yet."
The Titans have started off the season on a losing note with the loss of the opener against the New England Patriots and could not stage a comeback in the second game which they lost to the San Diego Chargers.
Yet second-year coach Mike Munchak is hopeful of the team’s chances for victories during rest of the season, though there is already a hustle bustle in the headquarters amid some commentators questioning ability of some of their players, particularly the
first-year starting QB Jake Locker.
Locker, who has so far failed to impress, was replaced by former leader QB Matt Hasselbeck in the first game but he too could not make any considerable impact.
