Tennessee Titans coach back his side to challenge Texans for wild card into Playoff – NFL News
The Tennessee Titans in their desperation of availing last chance for making it to playoff this season have all of sudden started analyzing their situation in the perspective of the current National Football League (NFL) champions Green Bay Packers who were
in a similar scenario a year ago.
Their coach Mike Munchak applied the trick of telling the Packers story to his side before going into their game on past Saturday afternoon. It seemed to have worked well for them as they managed to pull of a victory raising their hopes for a wild card berth
into playoff.
"They didn't control their own destiny," Munchak said. "They went on to win about, oh, I don't know, about 20 games in a row or so. They see that. I think a lot of people forgot that, the situation they were in last year with two games left, and it worked
out for them. So that's a nice story here."
First task before the Titans is now to win their last game against the American Football Conference (AFC) south champion the Houston Texans. It is a road game for the Titans.
A win will finish their role into playoff situation. They will then have to wait and see the development in the wild card race for playoff.
The game will not affect the Texans who with the score of 10-5 are seed 3 outfit in the AFC standings. However, if the Texans win that game then they might be flying back to the Houston again for a rematch.
"We hope that we have that problem, that we have to reorganize for that one," Munchak said. "We'll take that gladly. So we're going to do everything it takes to win."
This may not be enough alone for the Titans to reach the playoff round of the league. They will closely be watching the results from the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals game and other games as well.
If the Baltimore Ravens win against the Bengals, Jets win at the Miami and Oakland Raiders losing to San Diego will confirm their place into playoff through the wild card chance.
In any scenario it will be interesting to see if the Green Bay Packers situation example works out for the Munchak to motivate and inspire his side to stage a rather unexpected win over the AFC south champions the Texans.
However, if it does not work out, the Titans must be regretting over ruining of their chance against the previously winless the Indianapolis Colts couple of weeks ago. It was the Colt’s first win of the season.
