Tennessee Titans head for Georgia for a joint practice with Atlanta Falcons – NFL News
The Tennessee Titans are going to have another joint training session with the Atlanta Falcons at Georgia high school facility in August this year and the practice will be open for the general public.
Both sides have recently entered an agreement to hold a joint practice at Coahulla High School, in Dalton, Georgia on August 05. The decision to organise the session has come in wake of the success their previous collective practice had
achieved.
Titans’ coach, Mike Munchak, has cited the Chattanooga scrimmage of the teams in 1997, which drew a plenty of crowd to watch star players from both sides facing each other in a friendly and mock game environment.
The positive feedback from the fans and public overall has prompted both sides to have another collective training meet-up at the time when they will be almost halfway through to their training camps, which will start next month.
Mike said:
"Because of the lockout, it was too hard to plan something like this. With the schedule too ..., you can really have a nice organized practice against someone else who's a good football team and really work your first and second groups
without worrying about injuries like you do in preseason games."
The session is one of rare opportunities for the local football fans and supporters of the two teams to watch their favourite stars playing in front of them and get themselves entertained.
Munchak said:
"There's people who like both teams. I think it's a great thing when you can create that atmosphere."
Also, it will provide the players from the two squads to interact with some of their fans and maybe to get to know some of them.
It also provides the players with an opportunity to do a workout activity out of their teams’ facilities in a completely different environment and in different setting.
Dalton is about 160 from Nashville and Munchak, who confirmed the travel plans of the team by bus, says it will give the players a chance to become familiar with the sights and scenes of Tennessee border areas.
