Tennessee Titans host Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Week 12 Sunday – NFL Preview
The Tennessee Titans are considered favourites to win this Sunday game as they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers; a team taken to be their close rivals with a similar wins record and characteristics.
Titans, 5-5 in American Football Conference (AFC) south division, will have a home advantage over their visitors. Their record in the South division is even with five wins and five losses. They, however, lost four of the last six
games they played, after having made an impressive start of 3-1 this season.
They almost managed to record a win over their hosts Atlanta Falcons last Sunday. However, the Falcons successfully managed to maintain their lead till the end.
The Titans suffered a major setback in their matchup with the Falcons as their key starter Hasselbeck left the field due to an elbow injury. He, however, is expected to be back for this Sunday's game as tests confirmed his injury
was not a structural damage.
Hasselbeck was replaced by the new starter Jake Locker, who gave an impressive performance at his position, leaving a question mark; who will be starting in their next game? Hasselbeck or Locker.
Their coach Mike Munchak, however, ruled out any change and said that Hasselbeck will be starting at the quarterback position if he recovers timely for next week game.
"This is how we thought he would look by Thursday and like he just told you all, he did everything, was able to make all of the throws," Munchak said. "I think he is very confident and so are we, so we are ready to roll for Sunday."
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the meantime have set hopes for win to end their losing streak of three consecutive games. Their season-high losses record of this season is four games in a row. Like the Titans, the Buccaneers have
started the season well by winning four games and losing two. They too, however, failed to manage the same level of game in the later part of the season and have lost consecutive games since.
"We gotta go back, prepare and get ready for Tennessee," quarterback JoshFreeman said afterward. "We have a lot of confidence. We're a young team. I'm really proud of those guys."
Looking at the history of the game between them, the Titans have won seven out of total nine games. Tampa Bay, however, managed a 13-10 win in their last matchup with the Titans in 2007, but they had been beaten five times in a
row before that.
